Khaberni - The Greater Amman Municipality and the Applied Science University/Private College of Arts and Design signed, today Monday, a Memorandum of Understanding to enhance cooperation and joint work.
The Memorandum of Understanding, signed by Dr. Yousef Al-Shawarbeh, head of the Greater Amman Municipality committee, and Dr. Haitham Abu Khadija, head of the university's board of trustees, in the presence of the Deputy Head of the Greater Amman Municipality committee, Eng. Ziad Al-Rehani, and the City Manager Eng. Nabil Al-Jariri at the municipality's building, aims to enhance cooperation in implementing design and creative projects that highlight the cultural identity of the capital Amman, involve students and faculty in cultural initiatives launched by Greater Amman Municipality, engage students in field art programs and projects to enhance their practical experiences, and execute design projects in competitions offered by the Municipality such as designing the visual identity for cultural events, in addition to hosting and organizing lectures, workshops, and art and cultural seminars at facilities of both parties.
It also aims to provide academic and creative competencies to support cultural programs and activities, link the outcomes of art education to the cultural and artistic needs of Amman city, and support training programs for students in cultural centers affiliated with the Municipality, in addition to organizing workshops and lectures that contribute to developing artistic and cultural awareness among the local community.
Al-Shawarbeh stated that the signing of this memorandum is a documentation of fruitful cooperation with various institutions, especially academic ones, aiming to benefit from development and training, amalgamate scientific and practical experiences to elevate the level of services, and enhance the role of universities as an effective partner in development.
He confirmed that the municipality works to support the youth category and build communication bridges with them, involving them in developing their city and making it a nurturing environment for innovation which contributes to achieving sustainable development.
For his part said Abu Khadija that the university believes in the role of applied education and vital partnerships in making real change, and this memorandum represents a practical step towards empowering youth competencies
Through cooperation with the Applied Science University, the Municipality aims to enhance cooperation between the public and academic sectors, with the goal of integrating the energies and innovative ideas of youth in decision-making and developing the municipal services provided, serving the city's future.
