AlMomani Responds to AlKhashman

Khaberni – The Mayor of Zarqa, Imad Al-Momani, responded to the head of the municipal committee, engineer Khaled Al-Khashman, regarding the presence of an employee who is receiving a salary from the municipality despite being suspended and convicted in Saudi Arabia.

Al-Momani stated that the concerned employee was suspended in April of the previous year, and a decision was made by the municipal council in the same month to suspend him from work and send a copy of the decision to the financial department to stop his salary.

He indicated that the last salary the suspended employee received was for the month of 3/2022.

He explained that the municipal council decided to terminate the convicted employee's services, confirming that not a single penny from the municipality's fund was wasted, nor was any amount paid to the concerned employee.

Foreign Workers

Regarding foreign workers, especially the Egyptian ones, Al-Momani explained that they are entitled to 14 days of annual leave, which becomes 21 days after five years with the same employer.

He mentioned that leave can be carried forward for a maximum of two years.

Exercise Caution!

Al-Momani urged Al-Khashman to be precise in his statements, given the significant harm he has caused — according to him — to the municipal institution, its employees, and the municipal council.

He added: «I commit in front of the people of Zarqa and our beloved homeland on the Hashemite Arab soil, not to advance to any position if it is proven that a single penny was paid to the concerned employee, who was suspended and then convicted in Saudi Arabia.»
