Central Bank adopts digital identity through Sanad

Khaberni  - The Central Bank of Jordan has announced the adoption of digital identity through the "Sanad" application as an official and approved means to verify the identities of customers in all operating banks within the kingdom, as an equivalent alternative to traditional personal identity for executing transactions and banking services, within the framework of the efforts of the Central Bank to enhance digital transformation and develop the financial services infrastructure.

This achievement is part of the ongoing efforts of the Central Bank of Jordan aimed at automating and digitizing banking operations, which contributes to enhancing operational efficiency, simplifying procedures, and improving customer experience. It also aims to increase the levels of security and reliability in identity verification using the latest approved digital technologies.

The Central Bank pointed out that the adoption of digital identity allows customers to complete their banking transactions easily and securely by presenting digital identity through the "Sanad" app, without the need to provide traditional personal identity, through secure and approved electronic verification mechanisms that ensure data safety and protection.

The Central Bank of Jordan also confirmed its continuing work in cooperation with the Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship and related institutions to develop the digital financial services system, contributing to the achievement of the government's comprehensive vision for digital transformation.
