Shoman Announces Winners of the 2025 Pages Competition

Khaberni  - The Abdul Hameed Shoman Foundation Library announced today the names of the winners in the "Pages – Shoman Reading Competition" for the year 2025.

Layan Jafar Al-Momani won the first place, while Hudhaifa Firas Khalf won the second place, and Jamana Jeries Hajazin won the third place.

The CEO of the Foundation, Valentina Qsisia, confirmed during the award ceremony that the institution is constantly striving to promote the act of reading and making it a habit among all segments of society, through the design of programs and events that are unconventional and based on creative ideas.

Qsisia pointed out the importance of reading in human life in general, as it is considered the fundamental pillar for the development of humanity, expanding knowledge horizons, refining an individual's personality, enhancing their mental and linguistic capabilities, and increasing their self-confidence, which encourages them to think creatively and innovate.

According to Nizar Al-Hamoud, the acting general manager of the library, the competition aimed to encourage readers aged 16 and above to read 5 books over 5 months within 5 selected topics each month, where the reader fills monthly the name of the book from the selected topics through the system and writes a review about it after completing it.

Al-Hamoud said that participation in the competition required membership in the library, explaining that the participants read 5 books in both Arabic and English and followed their participation journey in the competition through the reading competition platform on the foundation’s website or the Shoman app, and after completing the reading, they filled in the participation requests, which were then sorted by the preliminary sorting committee, to be later evaluated by the second evaluation committee.

Al-Hamoud noted that participants were given marks out of 100 to qualify for the final stage, according to the approved criteria, consisting of book-topic alignment 10%, originality of book choice 10%, writing an original review 50%, and writing the review in correct language in terms of grammar, spelling errors, and linguistic structure 30%.

At the end of the award ceremony held in the public library in Jabal Amman, the Foundation's CEO distributed awards and certificates to the winners.
