Khaberni - The general director of Jordan Customs, Brigadier Customs Ahmad Al-Akalik, made a field visit to Aqaba where he met representatives from economic, commercial sectors and clearance companies, emphasizing the importance of enhancing cooperation and coordination between the Customs Department and its partners, and establishing the principle of partnership in supporting economic activities and facilitating customs procedures.
Al-Akalik confirmed that the customs are working to facilitate customs procedures in accordance with the requirements of the blessed month of Ramadan, especially regarding the facilitation of the entry of essential goods and ensuring their timely flow, within the framework of maintaining the smoothness of supply chains and meeting the needs of the local market.
This visit is part of the extensive governmental preparations to ensure the readiness of customs services at border centers and customs clearance centers as the Ramadan season approaches, which witnesses a noticeable increase in the movement of goods, essential materials, and travelers.
During the visit, mechanisms for developing customs procedures in Aqaba were discussed as well as enhancing the business and investment environment in cooperation with the relevant authorities, which contributes to accelerating customs clearance processes, reducing the time and cost of releasing goods, and enhancing the competitiveness of the national economy.
It is worth mentioning that these field visits are part of the strategy of the Jordan Customs Department aimed at facilitating trade exchange and supporting the national economy through the use of the latest customs systems and modern technologies in tracking transactions and simplifying procedures.
