Ali Alwan continues with AlSailiya and a sudden development regarding his injury

Khaberni  - After Al-Sailiya, a Qatari club, announced the injury of their striker Ali Alwan, including a torn ankle ligament and the player's need for surgical operation which would sideline him for 3 months, new reports revealed that the absence of the star might be shorter than expected.

Positive developments regarding Ali Alwan's injury

A source close to the player, Ali Alwan, confirmed that the doctor overseeing his injury is seriously considering not performing surgery, opting instead for only a rehabilitation program and physical therapy, according to the site "Win Win".

The source revealed that the doctor has not finalized the decision, but he might prefer the option of continuing the rehabilitation program, which may be sufficient for the player's return to the fields without any surgical intervention.

The source clarified that if it is officially decided against surgery, then Alwan would need more than just one month for rehabilitative treatment, which means it would be difficult for him to be ready before the training camp of the "Nashama" team, which is held in late March in preparation for the finals of the 2026 World Cup.

Alwan continues with Al-Sailiya

The source also confirmed that the player did not terminate his contract with Al-Sailiya, as was recently rumored. Notably, he signed a contract for half a season, coming from Al-Karma Club of Iraq.

The chances of Alwan continuing with Al-Sailiya and extending his contract appear very likely, especially since the club officials previously stated it would be difficult to find a free and suitable replacement player, which confirms that he might return to complete the remainder of his contract duration, and possibly renew for an additional season according to the agreement that unfolds.
