Khaberni - The General Director of the Land Transport Regulatory Authority, Eng. Riyad Al-Kharabsheh, confirmed that electronic linking following legislation approval will be decisive in organizing the passenger transport sector using smart applications.
Al-Kharabsheh pointed out that the Authority has utilized experts from outside its staff to ensure the linkage is performed in the best possible manner, aiming to successfully organize the sector and oversee it, and to guarantee the best service provision, according to Al-Ghad.
He mentioned that a final license was granted to the "Taxi F" app, making the total number of licensed companies five: "Careem," "Uber," "Jeeny," and "Petra Ride," along with "Taxi F".
About 35 companies had applied for a license, with around 15 of them receiving preliminary approval from the board of the Authority. This followed the publication of the "Regulation of Passenger Transport, through the Use of Smart Applications for the year 2025" in the Official Gazette on October 16th of last year, and the publication of the instructions issued under it on December 6th of last year.
