Khaberni - The Council of Ministers, during its session held on Sunday under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Jafar Hassan, reviewed the plans of the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs, in preparation for the coming month of Ramadan; including the Islamic Awqaf Department, the Affairs of Al-Aqsa Mosque, and the Zakat Fund.
The plan aims to launch integrated religious, scientific, and media programs, and a wide range of initiatives, aimed at highlighting the religious message, enhancing the values of solidarity and compassion, and consolidating the scientific and religious role during the holy month of Ramadan, in addition to serving worshipers in Jordan and Jerusalem.
The plan includes holding the Hashemite scientific councils weekly with the participation of a group of scholars from inside and outside the kingdom, organizing the 33rd Hashemite International Competition for males with the participation of 60 countries, and the Hashemite local competition for females with the participation of 167 contestants.
The ministry has allocated within the plan daily programs and religious lessons in the main mosques (King Hussein bin Talal Mosque and the Martyr King Founder Mosque) and broadcasting them in cooperation with the Jordanian Radio and Television Corporation, Jordan Radio, and the Quran Radio.
The plan also includes launching a campaign for the Zakat Fund comprising distributing aid via Zakat committees, handing over productive projects, repairing homes for needy families, paying off debts for a number of female debtors, organizing charitable forums, free medical days, and programs to support orphans in various governorates.
