Khaberni - The Israeli occupying government approved on Sunday a proposal that involves opening the doors for land registration in the West Bank for the first time since 1967, facilitating the resumption of land settlement processes in the area.
The proposal was presented by Israeli Justice Minister Yariv Levin, Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich, and Defense Minister Israel Katz, and it stipulates renewing the land settlement system in the West Bank that has been halted since 1967.
The small ministerial security cabinet (Cabinet) last Sunday approved a series of decisions submitted by Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich and Defense Minister Israel Katz, which lead to a radical change in the legal and civil reality in the occupied West Bank.
It is expected that these decisions will lead to profound changes in the management and registration of lands in the occupied West Bank and deepen the annexation plan and allow the demolition of buildings owned by Palestinians in areas "A", aiming at a significant expansion of settlement, with their cancellation associated with legal complications.
According to the official statement, the decisions aim to remove decades-old obstacles that contribute to enabling accelerated settlement development in the area, and also abolish the Jordanian law that prohibits the sale of land to Jews.
