Super Bowl Ad Criticizing OpenAI Boosts Anthropic User Increase by 11

Khaberni - The Seattle Seahawks were not the only winners in the Super Bowl match; the emerging AI company "Anthropic" also made gains from that game, according to data analyzed by BNP Paribas.

The company's site, developer of the chatbot "Claude", saw a 6.5% increase in visits after a company ad aired during the Super Bowl criticizing the decision of competitor OpenAI to run ads in the chatbot "ChatGPT".

This gain for "Claude", which placed it among the top 10 free apps on the "App Store", was better than its competitors in the field of chatbots and artificial intelligence, such as "OpenAI", "Google", and "Meta", according to a report by CNBC.

"Claude" saw an 11% increase in daily active users after the game, the highest compared to other AI products covered by the company.

Meanwhile, "ChatGPT" from "OpenAI" experienced a 2.7% increase in daily active users after the Super Bowl, while "Gemini" added 1.4%.

However, "Claude"'s user base is still significantly smaller than that of "ChatGPT" and "Gemini".

Artificial intelligence company ads dominated the scene during the "Super Bowl"—the final match of the American football league and the most-watched sports event in the United States—that attracted 125 million viewers in the United States, as AI companies fiercely competed to attract more customers in a still rapidly growing competitive market.

The intense competition between "OpenAI" and "Anthropic" added a new dimension with competing advertisements, amid AI labs' plans to go public later this year.

The companies have also increased their public statements in recent weeks, as executives openly criticized each other's actions.

"Anthropic" and "OpenAI" fiercely compete for corporate trust and top programming talent, while raising record amounts of private funding.

Last week, "Anthropic" closed a funding round worth 30 billion dollars, bringing its market value after funding to 380 billion dollars, more than double its value when raising funds last September.

But "OpenAI" leads the list with the largest private funding round in the history of technology companies, achieved last year. The company is also in talks to complete a funding round that could be valued up to 100 billion dollars, according to a previous report by "CNBC".
