Khaberni - Animated compilations from an early version of Samsung’s "One UI 9" have revealed the design and form of the foldable Galaxy Z Fold Wide. It is alleged that the company will launch it this year to compete with the upcoming foldable iPhone Fold.
The site "Android Authority" published animations showing a swipe-up motion on the external screen of the phone while it's folded. Then, the device opens and the menu expands on the phone’s main screen, according to a report by the site.
These leaks reveal that the external screen of the Fold Wide phone is equipped with a camera hole in the middle of the screen. The external screen will be somewhat square, rather than having the usual curved edges found on non-foldable smartphones.
Upon opening the phone, a hole for a front camera can be seen on the main screen. However, what attracts more attention is the peculiar design and size of the phone.
So far, Samsung's foldable phones have featured a relatively long external screen and a wide internal screen that resembles a book.
While they provide ample display space for multitasking and increased productivity, the aspect ratio is not ideal for daily use.
However, on the Fold Wide phone, the external screen appears noticeably shorter and wider compared to the long external screens in the current Galaxy Z Fold models.
The aspect ratio of the external screen is closer to 16:10 (height to width) in vertical mode compared to the long 20:9 screens typically used by "Samsung".
Meanwhile, the dimensions of the internal screen are very close to each other with a height-to-width ratio of 3:4, giving it a distinctive tablet-like feel when the phone is opened.
