Turki AlSheikh denies rumor of granting golden residency to a boy involved in the bus girl incident

Khaberni - Turki Al-Sheikh, President of the Entertainment Authority in Saudi Arabia, commented on a rumor circulating on social media about a bus harassment incident that recently caused controversy in Egypt.

Al-Sheikh published on his Facebook account on Friday, a circulating image claiming: "Turki Al-Sheikh grants the young man involved in the bus girl incident the golden residency and 300,000 Saudi Riyals", confirming that it is not true.

Al-Sheikh wrote commenting: "The news is not true, and be wary of this period from such news which is known who is behind it and why they are funded. I think by now everyone understands who tries to spread such news and why... Do not take any news except from my official page."

The incident of a girl accusing a young man of harassing and stealing from her inside a public transport bus and her posting a video of the altercation between them, recently caused widespread uproar, between those defending the girl and another team seeing the innocence of the young man and that the girl’s accusations are false.

On Wednesday, the investigative authorities in Egypt decided to release the young man on a financial bail of 1,000 pounds, while continuing the investigations in the case to uncover its full circumstances, amidst conflicting statements from the victim and witness testimonies.

A witness denied the incident, saying that the girl boarded the bus and shortly after started screaming claiming that the accused harassed her and stole 200 pounds from her, which sparked a debate among the passengers.
