Khaberni - Exclusive leaks conveyed by the pro-regime Syrian media figure, Shadi Halwa, have revealed allegations related to the circumstances of Luna Al-Shabal's murder, the former media advisor in the presidential palace, indicating that she was killed before she could reveal what was described as "dangerous secrets" concerning Bashar al-Assad.
According to the leaks, the assassination was directly ordered by Assad through Mansour Azzam, the former Minister of Presidential Affairs, who was described as the "black box" of the Syrian president, according to Al Arabiya channel.
The information reported that Azzam called Al-Shabal and requested her presence at the palace before her assassination, and she was also asked to bring her escort to her home.
The leaks mentioned that Al-Shabal was beaten on the head until death, before she was later pronounced dead, where it was said she was placed in the intensive care unit "formally" after she had passed away.
It also pointed out that her funeral was handled with deliberate negligence.
A strong connection with the Russians
In a related context, the leaks discussed internal conflicts within the presidential palace, confirming that Al-Shabal had a strong relationship with the Russians, and that Asma al-Assad intervened to curb her influence, stripping her of her media duties.
It was also alleged that she was transferring Assad-owned money to Russia.
Luna Al-Shabal "a spy"
The information also addressed Iranian accusations that Al-Shabal was "a spy", in addition to stating that her brother was executed for espionage with Israel.
It also reported that Al-Shabal was suspended from work shortly before the assassination process. The leaks also included references to the role of businessman Hussam Qaterji in transporting oil from areas controlled by ISIS and the Syrian Democratic Forces to regime-controlled areas.
