Khaberni - The Ministry of Environment warned on Saturday against engaging in outdoor activities for people with sensitivities and the elderly, due to the poor air quality resulting from weather conditions and dust-laden winds.
The ministry explained that the sandstorm has been affecting the kingdom since Friday and is likely to continue until Sunday morning.
It noted that all ambient air monitoring stations have shown an increase in dust levels.
The dusty conditions continue to affect wide areas of the kingdom, with forecasts suggesting a gradual decline by the early hours of Sunday morning, according to the Meteorological Department.
Satellite images captured by the department show the ongoing spread of dust with varying densities, where concentrations appear high in the north and central parts of the kingdom, as well as the eastern parts, while being less dense in the southern regions.
