Video Huda Shaarawis murderer reenacts the crime reveals motivations and apologizes to Syrians

Khaberni - The Syrian Ministry of Justice published part of the details of the crime reenactment of the murder of the Syrian artist Huda Shaarawi in her home in Damascus, which occurred at the hands of her Ugandan nationality maid at the end of January (January) last year, affirming that the judicial authorities are following the case closely and determinedly to ensure "swift justice".

The ministry's statement clarified that the publication of these events comes within the ongoing investigations to uncover all details of the crime completely after the maid, Vicky Kitarra Ajoul, admitted during the preliminary investigations to committing the crime, as previously announced by the Syrian Ministry of Interior.

The published video showed the maid reenacting the crime, where she struck the late artist's head several times with a metal object while she was in bed, referring in her statement that the artist had asked her not to approach the refrigerator or anything in the house because it had been poisoned, saying: "I thought we should die together because she had poisoned me."

She continued: "A misunderstanding occurred between us last November because I asked her for my salary to send it to Uganda, at which point she refused and told me she would give it to me after 4 months if I was good, and thus misunderstandings between us occurred repeatedly, she mistreated me and fed me only once every two or three days, and she often locked me in the bathroom and beat me as well."

The maid added that she attempted suicide after committing the murder by taking medicines, pouring fuel on herself, and jumping from the roof but she survived, before the police later arrested her.

In the end, the maid apologized to the artist, her audience, and the Syrian people, saying: "I apologize to all Syrians.. forgive me, I do not know how that came from me.. I do not know what to say to you and your people.. I am sorry."

Investigations confirmed that the security forces arrested the accused in the late hours of the day the crime occurred in Bab Sarijah neighborhood in Damascus, after she left the house following the discovery of the distinguished artist's body.

The family of the artist, who was famous for her role as "Umm Zaki" in the series "Bab al-Hara", expressed their confidence in the progress of the investigations, denying any involvement of a third party or instigator, asserting that the maid committed the crime alone.

The judicial authorities continue to gather evidence and complete the investigations, in preparation for referring the case to the competent court.
