Syrian Drama Liberates from Assads Shadow

Khaberni - 14 months after the fall of the Assad regime in Syria were sufficient to break the chains of freedoms, reaching even the drama.

Liberation from Assad
This year, it is scheduled to witness the return of Syrian drama, in an attempt, according to observers, to regain the brilliance that was obscured by the 14-year war.

The art scene will also see Syrian works spanning several eras, some from recent history and others that happened decades ago.

The works will also experience the return of prominent Syrian stars to pure Syrian drama after they spent many years in joint works between Lebanon and Egypt.

To that extent, some voices consider this return a clear liberation from the Assad regime's restrictions that were imposed for many years on Syrians and interfered in all aspects of their lives.

Among the most important works: the series "The Syrian Enemies" by director Laith Hajjo, which goes back to the 1980s and the Hama massacre.

Also, director Rasha Sharbatji presents the series "City Kitchen," focusing on major social and political conflicts from the heart of Damascus.

Similarly, the series "Leaving to the Well" written by Samer Radwan, documents horrors and real stories of detainees at the Saydnaya prison in Syria.

The third work, "The King’s Family," directed by Mohammad Abdel Aziz, portrays a family ruled by the lust for money, becoming a miniature model of a society collapsing internally, reflecting what happened in Syria, apparently.

And of course, the series "Mawlana" by director Samer Al Barrqawi, starring Syrian star Taim Hassan and actress Mona Wassef,

We will also watch "The Madness of Happiness" by director Saif Al Subaie, talking about a mysterious murder, and "Me and Her and Haya", and "The Last Seat".

Also, there is "Underground 2: Accounting", and "Cursed Love", not to mention historical works such as "Hatim Al Tai" with artist Sawm Haddad, and Shami like "The Nawailati".

About comedy, there is the series "Bint Al Nauman" by Saif Sheikh Najib revealing Mohammad Ouso, witnessing the latter's return to drama after a long absence, and "We Didn't Disagree 3", and "Me or Her", and "Dream House".

Return of the Stars
It is worth noting that the most prominent feature of the upcoming Ramadan season for Syrian stars is the return of artists like Jamal Sulaiman, Maxim Khalil, Samer Al Masri, Yara Sabri, Fares Al Helw, Mohammad Ouso, Layla Awad, and Jihad Abdo to the scene after complete neutralization due to their political stances.

This return holds a special place in the hearts of Syrians, according to comments that have emerged on social media since the announcement of the works, as Syrian drama has always had its role and status in their lives for more than five decades.
