Khaberni - An influencer was blacklisted by a Turkish airline for a full year after he lit a cigarette on board the airplane and recorded the video, sharing it on social media.
The Turkish influencer, known as Erkan Toy, with a following of one million people, filmed himself smoking inside the cabin of an AJet plane, the Turkish budget carrier, according to the British newspaper "The Sun".
The shocking video shows him lighting the cigarette while the person sitting next to him tries to stop him. Within hours of the clip circulating online, AJet confirmed that the passenger had been blacklisted and would not be allowed to fly with the airline for a full year.
Turkish civil aviation law prohibits smoking or using electronic cigarettes during the flight. Passengers who violate this face a fine of up to 24,681 Turkish Lira (equivalent to £415). The company mentioned that it is still considering whether to impose a financial penalty on the influencer or not.
This is not the first time the behavior of an influencer on board a plane has caused controversy.
In January (January) last year, two modeling agents were ejected after allegations that they were intoxicated and did not carry their boarding passes. The models, Sania Blanchard aged 34, and Jordan Dan Lantery aged 31, were removed from the plane with handcuffs on after causing a disturbance on the flight.
Reports clarified that the models refused to move to their assigned seats when the crew requested, leading to their removal from the airplane on charges of trespassing, after receiving an official warning, and they were later released from county jail.
