Khaberni - Queen Rania Al Abdullah confirmed that Jordan, despite its small geographical size, stands tall with its values and principles in a world full of transformations, emphasizing that what distinguishes the kingdom is not its size, but what it defends and believes in.
The Queen said, "This is the Jordan that I am proud to call my homeland. A reliable and honest partner in a complex world."
This was during her participation at the Times Group's 2026 Global Business Summit, held today in New Delhi, India under the theme "A Decade of Disruptions, a Century of Change," where she discussed the rapid transformations taking place in the world, led by artificial intelligence and global political and economic changes.
She said, "Today, it is not easy to look to the future without feeling a degree of anxiety, not because the future seems bleak, but because it seems unfamiliar."
She added, "The fast pace of artificial intelligence is just the latest shock in an era that is already characterized by turmoil and fluctuation," noting that "artificial intelligence is reshaping our world at a pace that outstrips institutions, legislation, or even human capabilities."
In contrast to this acceleration, Her Majesty pointed out that politics is moving in the opposite direction, explaining: "We find ourselves practically living in a global reality, but governed by local policies, while the business sector finds itself stuck in the middle."
She posed questions she considered strategic, not theoretical: "How often do we stop to ask ourselves: What are we racing towards? Are we still in the lead or is the momentum of events driving us?"
She warned against confusing movement with progress, affirming, "The question for leaders today is not: How do we slow down progress? But: How do we direct it?"
Her Majesty highlighted the importance of humility as a value for leadership in a world characterized by shared risks, and described it as essential for addressing global shared challenges and developing systems that withstand the era of rapid change.
She said: "Regarding the question: How do we direct progress? I say: With humility," clarifying that "humility allows us to recognize the possibility of error, it forces us to test our assumptions, and reminds us that having power does not necessarily mean having the answers."
She remarked, "Humility is a quiet virtue that does not announce itself. But I see it as a fundamental value for leadership in today’s world, not as hesitation or self-doubt, but as honesty about the limits that bind us."
The Queen stated, "What is common today is the continuous competition not for perfection, but for the lead," pointing out that "companies rush to implement artificial intelligence without considering its potential effects."
She emphasized that the approach based on humility "is not about who arrives first, but about how many can reach together, and it involves choosing a responsible decision instead of settling for what is convenient, a familiar approach in Jordan."
She noted that Jordan stands at the intersection of several crises in the region, and has endured not because we took stability for granted but because we adapted to successive challenges.
She indicated that "The Holy Quran forbids us from strutting proudly on the earth, because 'we will neither pierce the earth nor reach the mountains in height.' In the current state of uncertainty prevailing in the world, emphasizing this wisdom is not only a source of comfort but also a practical tool."
She emphasized that "Humility is not just an attitude, but a work method... it places resilience and human dignity at the heart of progress," affirming "We need all of our voices. And all of our perspectives... not just in business and technology, but in how we pursue our shared destiny as humans."
The Times Group's Global Business Summit is a global gathering and featured participation by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, along with a host of political figures, business leaders, policymakers, and entrepreneurs.
