Khaberni - The Food and Drug Authority has issued educational guidelines within an awareness campaign launched in preparation for Ramadan to ensure the safety of the food items in Ramadan parcels.
The Authority has called on food establishments wishing to prepare Ramadan parcels containing food items to ensure compliance with several requirements to guarantee the safety and quality of the parcel contents, including that all food items in the parcels must have a circulation license and approval from the Authority.
It emphasized the importance of the food items carrying an effective and non-expired validity date, in addition to adhering to proper storage and transportation conditions to ensure the validity of the food items is not compromised, and not to distribute or receive any food items if any change in the information label or any tampering attempt or any change in the external package such as the presence of rust or damage is noticed.
