Jordan 267 regulatory tours conducted by the Food and Drug Administration in 24 hours

Khaberni -  The specialized monitoring and inspection teams at the Public Institution for Food and Drug, through its branches in various regions of the kingdom, conducted  267 field tours at food establishments, yesterday Thursday, February 12.  

The institution stated in a press release that, based on the tours, 5 establishments were suspended from operating due to the handling of expired food items and low level of compliance with health and hygiene requirements, in addition to closing two establishments; one of them, a pickles processing establishment not meeting health requirements and involved in freezing fresh fruits without obtaining the necessary licenses from the institution, while the other was a restaurant in Al-Baqa'a that had been previously closed by the institution due to insect detection, and was re-closed for breaking the red sealing wax by the stakeholders and resuming work illegally without an official reopening permission.

The institution added that the seized food materials were detained in preparation for destruction and necessary measures were taken against the violators, and it also invited to communicate with it in case of any complaint or observation at any time through the toll-free complaint line 117114, the email [email protected], and through WhatsApp application on the number 0795632000.
