Khaberni - The value of returned checks during January 2026 was about 65.9 million dinars, compared to 98 million dinars in December 2025, representing 2.14% of the total value of circulated checks over the past three months, according to statistics from the Jordanian Payment Systems and Clearing Company (JoPACC).
The total number of returned checks last month was about 11.4 thousand checks, with 63.8% for financial reasons totaling 7,284 checks, while checks returned for technical reasons constituted 36.2% with 4,136 checks.
Conversely, the number of circulated checks during January decreased to about 407 thousand checks, compared to 570 thousand checks in December of the previous year, with a total value of 3.07 billion dinars, compared to 3.85 billion dinars in the previous month.
According to JoPACC statistics, the total value of circulated checks in Jordan during January 2026 was about 3.07 billion dinars, marking a decrease of 20.3% compared to the previous month of December.
