Hakeem completes the computerization of more than 570 health facilities during 2026

Khaberni - The National Program for Computerized Health Information "Hakeem", implemented by the Health Computing Company, continues to establish its presence in various governorates of the kingdom, after the number of government health facilities applying the system reached 453, a step that confirms the acceleration of digital transformation in the Jordanian health sector, and enhances the integration and quality of medical care on a national level.

Officials and citizens in various governorates agree that "Hakeem" has become one of the main pillars of health digital transformation in Jordan, providing accurate and comprehensive data that supports proper health planning, improves resource distribution, enhances performance efficiency, and boosts citizen confidence in government health services.

As the computerization of more than 570 health facilities is nearing completion by 2026, a new phase in Jordanian healthcare is taking shape, which features a unified electronic medical record, data-driven medical decisions, and faster, more efficient, and fairer health services within a national vision that places digital transformation at the core of healthcare sector development.

According to the company, the new expansion included 51 government hospitals, 127 comprehensive health centers, 260 primary health centers, in addition to 15 specialized health centers, covering a wide range of health services provided to citizens in various regions, and establishing an advanced phase of health automation based on unifying medical records electronically and linking them within an integrated national system.

The company confirmed that work is ongoing to complete the computerization of all government health facilities by the end of 2026, which includes 116 facilities affiliated with the Ministry of Health and 10 facilities affiliated with the Royal Medical Services, raising the total number of facilities applying the system to more than 570 health facilities throughout the kingdom, constituting a pivotal stage in the journey of digital health transformation.

Health specialists believe that Hakeem reaching this number of facilities genuinely supports the national health system through advanced digital solutions that have contributed to improving the quality of care, speeding up procedures, and enhancing the accuracy and integration of health data, ensuring the highest levels of information security and confidentiality, alongside enabling medical staff to perform their tasks with higher efficiency, and raising the level of patient safety and sustainability of health services in line with the best global practices in digital health.

In the Irbid governorate, the specialist in general surgery at Princess Basma Hospital and a member of the Jordanian Medical Association, Dr. Yasser Mohammed Al-Qudah, stated that the "Hakeem" system has been applied in all departments and emergency units of the new hospital as part of the automation plan executed by the Ministry of Health, which has positively impacted medical service recipients by reducing wait times, organizing appointments through electronic booking, and enabling the monthly dispensing of medications, especially for the elderly, without the need for repeated consultations or long waiting periods.

Dr. Al-Qudah mentioned that the system provides a precise and rapid medical reference for the staff, allowing immediate access to a patient's medical history and treatment narratives, securing information preservation and assuring access at any time, which has enhanced the accuracy of medical decisions and the safety of therapeutic procedures. He concluded his speech by affirming that "Hakeem" has created a sense of satisfaction and comfort among service providers and recipients under the slogan "Towards a Better Service for Better Health."

In the Zarqa governorate, citizens and officials in the cities of Zarqa, Russeifa, Hashimiyah District, and Byrein expressed their satisfaction with the system's impact on speeding up procedures and improving service quality, noting that the automation of processes has reduced routine paperwork and waiting queues, and facilitated the booking of appointments and the tracking of test results electronically.
Patients with chronic diseases and the elderly praised the home delivery medicine service, considering it relieved them from the burden of travel under various conditions, while some elderly noted technical challenges that require direct support and ongoing awareness to ensure they fully benefit from digital services.

The director of the comprehensive Al-Masharifeh Health Center, Dr. Ahmad Tarkhan, confirmed that the system, applied in the center for about five years, has provided a secure and accurate space for safeguarding patient data and ease of access from any location, speeding up the diagnostic and treatment process. Reviewers at Prince Faisal Hospital expressed their satisfaction with the appointment organization and the accuracy of information when dispensing medications, calling for an expansion in providing self-service options for visitors.

In the Balqa governorate, the director of the health directorate, Dr. Akif Mahmoud Al-Salihat, described the expansion in applying "Hakeem" as a strategic step that aligns with the government's vision of solidifying automation and comprehensive digital transformation. He explained that moving from paper procedures to an integrated digital system has contributed to accelerating medical and administrative services, improving the quality of data, and ensuring the equitable distribution of health services.
