Khaberni - Turkish media uncovered that the famous actor Cihan Mengüeroğlu fled abroad after being blamed for collecting approximately 15 million Turkish Lira from banks and contacts within the artistic and business communities, disappearing months ago and cutting off communication with creditors.
A large number of creditors have filed official complaints against the actor known for his roles in successful series like "Blind Love" and "Forbidden Apple", accusing him of financial fraud and planning to flee abroad after obtaining the money.
Investigations show that Mengüeroğlu, who is 39 years old, left Turkey last summer with his wife and settled in Bali, Indonesia, where he is believed to have started a new life away from creditors.
Since August (August) 2025, the actor has not entered Turkish territory, and close contacts confirmed that he completely cut off communication with his acquaintances, and stopped using his old phone number, while creditors described his departure as a "carefully planned escape" and not just a temporary trip.
On the other hand, some of his close contacts said his travel was intended to "rearrange his life" after severe financial pressures, though this narrative has not convinced the creditors.
Details of the case also reveal that Mengüeroğlu obtained bank loans before leaving Turkey, exhausted his credit card limits, and borrowed large sums from acquaintances, most of them in the drama and cinema sector.
Following the complaints filed against him, Turkish authorities issued an arrest warrant to bring him in for questioning, amidst legal confirmations that he could face imprisonment immediately upon his return to Turkey.
While the creditors' lawyers said the legal proceedings are ongoing, indicating that the case involves suspicions of financial fraud and breach of trust.
