Strong Winds and Dusty Weather on Friday and Saturday

Khaberni - The kingdom experiences atmospheric disturbances on Friday and Saturday, accompanied by active winds and strong gusts in some areas, raising dust.

The Meteorological Department has explained that temperatures will noticeably rise on Friday, recording about 6 degrees Celsius above the general averages for this time of the year. The weather will be pleasant in most areas and warm in the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea, and Aqaba, with clouds appearing at medium and high altitudes. The winds will be moderate southwesterly but will occasionally intensify.

By noon, the wind speed will increase, with strong gusts sometimes reaching between 50-60 km/h, stirring up dust in many areas, leading to a significant reduction in horizontal visibility and its occasional absence, especially on outer roads.

In the evenings and at night, the weather will be dusty and cold in most areas, with an increase in cloud cover turning the weather from partly cloudy to cloudy. Rain showers are expected in the north of the kingdom, occasionally accompanied by thunder, while the winds will remain active southwesterly to westerly with strong gusts in some areas.

The Meteorological Department on Friday warned of the danger of reduced horizontal visibility due to dust, especially on outer roads, and the intensity of wind speed and strong accompanying gusts, in addition to the risk of slipping on roads experiencing rain, advising asthma and allergy patients to take necessary precautions.

On Saturday, temperatures will drop while the atmosphere remains dusty in many areas, especially in the south and east of the kingdom. The weather will be relatively cold in most areas and warm in the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea, and Aqaba.

There is a chance of light rain in the early morning hours in the northern regions and limited parts of central kingdom, with winds being active southwesterly to westerly with strong gusts reaching 50-60 km/h.

During the night, dust concentration will decrease and temperatures will be cold in most areas and relatively cold in the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea, and Aqaba, with light speed southwesterly winds.

The administration renewed its warnings on Saturday about the danger of reduced daytime horizontal visibility due to dust, and the intensity of wind speed and strong gusts, noting that the weather is not suitable for outdoor activities like excursions.

According to forecasts, on Sunday, temperatures will noticeably rise, and the weather will be pleasant in most areas and warm in the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea, and Aqaba, with moderate speed southeasterly winds, while at night it will be cold in most areas and relatively cold in the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea, and Aqaba.

On Monday, the rise in temperatures will continue, maintaining pleasant weather in most areas and warm conditions in the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea, and Aqaba, with moderate speed southeasterly winds. At night, the weather will be cold in most areas and relatively cold in the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea, and Aqaba.

The Meteorological Department calls for following the updates issued by it promptly through its official channels, given the changing nature of the weather during the end of the week.
