Khaberni - The Food and Drug Administration issued educational guidelines to ensure the safety of food materials distributed within Ramadan parcels, as part of its awareness campaign in preparation for the blessed month of Ramadan.
The Administration called on food establishments wishing to prepare Ramadan parcels to adhere to several health and technical requirements that ensure the safety and quality of the contents before distributing them to the beneficiaries.
It emphasized the necessity for all food materials included in the parcels to have a circulation permit and an official license from the Administration, and to carry a valid expiration date that is not expired.
It stressed the importance of adhering to proper storage and transportation conditions, which prevents the food materials' validity from being affected or exposed to damage.
It also warned against distributing or receiving any food materials if there is any noticeable change on the information label, any suspicion of tampering, or any change in the condition of the external packaging such as rust or damage.
The Administration clarified that these measures are part of its commitment to protect the health and safety of citizens, ensuring the delivery of safe food materials in Ramadan parcels.
