Khaberni - The chapters of the case involving Lebanese artist Fadel Shaker continue, as the Lebanese military court, today, Thursday, heard separately from Shaker and Sheikh Ahmad al-Asir, in the files related to the Abra events that took place in Sidon in 2013, before adjourning the session to March 24 next year.
During the session, Shaker affirmed that he did not fire at the Lebanese army, emphasizing that he does not carry weapons nor does he know how to use them.
On the other hand, Ahmad al-Asir denied that the artist had financed his armed group or participated in the fighting, explaining that Shaker’s recourse to him at that time was due to threats he faced, according to him.
Shaker had surrendered himself to the Lebanese army in October 2025 at the entrance of Ain al-Hilweh camp, after years of evading the public eye, following the in absentia rulings issued against him in 2020, which sentenced him to 15 years in prison with hard labor for providing logistical services, and an additional 7 years for financing an armed group.
Despite the cases against him, Fadel Shaker’s name is still present in the music scene, as he recently won two music awards at the "Joy Awards" ceremony, including the Favorite Artist award, in a paradox that reflects the continued popularity of his music alongside his complex judicial trajectory.
