Prisoner Media Serious Deterioration in the Health of Prisoner Abdullah AlBarghouthi After a Brutal Assault in Gilboa Prison

Khaberni  - The Prisoner Media Office affiliated with "Hamas" reported that the prisoner leader Abdullah Al-Barghouthi was injured yesterday, Wednesday, during a suppression operation by the administration of Gilboa Prison against the prisoners.

The office explained in a statement today, Thursday, that Barghouthi had visible injuries near his left eye, accompanied by blood resulting from a guard deliberately hitting his head against a metal door during his exit for a visit.

It added that the prisoner is suffering from severe weight loss, a dangerous indicator of the extent of health deterioration he is facing due to the starvation policy imposed on him.

The Prisoner Media Office noted that what happened in Gilboa Prison reflects the escalation of violations and the continuation of policies of repression and neglect, which directly threaten the lives of prisoners.

The number of prisoners and detainees in Israeli occupation prisons exceeds (9300), as of the beginning of February 2026, including (56) female prisoners, among them two girls.

Prisoner organizations stated in a press release that the number of child prisoners is (350), held by the occupation in (Megiddo and Ofer) prisons, while the number of administrative detainees reaches (3358), the highest ratio among sentenced prisoners, detainees, and those classified as "unlawful combatants".

They pointed out that the number classified by the occupation as "unlawful combatants" is (1249) detainees, noting that this number does not include all detainees from Gaza held in military camps affiliated with the occupation army and classified within this category. It is also mentioned that this classification includes Arab detainees from Lebanon and Syria.
