A Gaza Peace Council Official Reveals the Start Date for Hamas Disarmament

Khaberni - A senior official in the "Gaza Peace Council" revealed that "Hamas" has agreed to begin its disarmament starting from next March.
"Yedioth Ahronoth" newspaper quoted the official, indicating that the relevant parties are currently putting the final touches on the technical details for dismantling the movement's military arsenal, confirming that this step is part of an ongoing process.
The source explained that completing disarmament would give the necessary momentum and legitimacy to start the deployment of international forces scheduled in the Gaza Strip to ensure regional stability, pointing out that "the process of clearing Gaza of weapons will start first with the tunnels, then weapon production factories, followed by the dismantling of RPGs and mortars, and finally light weapons."

The official confirmed that the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip is still holding contrary to expectations, stating that things are moving according to the planned schedule despite some ongoing disputes and technical obstacles.

The source noted that "the situation is not as sterile as some might think, but we must acknowledge that we are not in the presence of a magical solution, and everything we aimed for has been achieved as planned." He denied any feelings of obstruction or procrastination from Israel in passing the second phase of the Gaza agreement.

In an attempt to consolidate the "achievements" of the agreement, the official said, "Hostages have been released, the Rafah crossing has been reopened, and is ready for operation, and the technical committee for managing Gaza has been formed with everyone's consensus and will soon enter Gaza."

He added: "We ignore the surrounding noise, and focus only on the essence of the issue."

Referring to an article published by the "New York Times", the official mentioned that the United States is considering leaving light weapons for Hamas, noting that the movement naturally does not want to give up its weapons all at once; therefore, it is requesting a postponement of light weapons disarmament until a consensus security force is formed in Gaza, comprising one government and one armament.
