After cocaine discovered in the blood of a British infant the arrest of his mother and her partner

Khaberni - Spanish police detained a 25-year-old British woman after her infant tested positive for cocaine in Marbella.

Police arrested a woman in the Costa del Sol area, following a positive cocaine test result from a urine sample of her eight-month-old child.

Security patrols moved to Cabopino Beach near Marbella following a report of a fire lit under a large tree. Upon arrival, police found the woman with her Spanish partner, aged 43, residing in a tent set up among sand dunes, with an unlocked car nearby bearing an expired technical inspection certificate.

After an initial assessment of the living conditions, the infant was transferred to "Las Albarizas" health center for a medical examination, due to suspected malnutrition. He was later referred to the Costa del Sol Hospital for further tests.

Doctors reported that the child's weight was below normal for his age, and urine analysis revealed traces of cocaine. He was admitted to the pediatric department pending further test results.

Local reports mentioned that the mother had previously missed medical appointments at the same unit where her child is currently receiving treatment.

The detained woman spent the night at the Marbella police station, pending her and her partner's court appearance. The session is scheduled to be held privately according to the procedures in Spain during the investigative stage.

Initial data indicates the possibility of their release on bail pending further investigation, while the child was placed under temporary care as a precautionary decision pending a later determination of his situation. The police have not yet issued an official statement regarding the incident.
