The final season was rich with poetic texts characterized by strength and depth, and whose subjects ranged from nationalism to sentimentality and social issues, reflecting the poets' awareness of their community’s issues and their ability to express the pulse of the Arab street in a robust language and impactful rhetorical imagery.
The final evening, held at Al-Raha Beach Theatre in Abu Dhabi, featured a unique celebratory atmosphere, attended by a large audience and widely followed through screens and social media platforms. Poets in the final episode competed in a strong poetic face-off, where the scores from the judging panel were combined with public voting, concluding a season marked by a high artistic level and diversity of poetic experiences.
In a solemn crowning moment, Sheikh Mohammed bin Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, the Crown Prince of Ras Al Khaimah, and Sheikh Nahyan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan Charitable and Humanitarian Foundation, awarded the Saudi poet Hussam bin Viyah with the banner of the twelfth season, following the announcement of the final results by the judging panel consisting of Dr. Sultan Al Amimi, Dr. Ghassan Al Hassan, and the poet Hamad Al Saad.
The winner of the first place receives a cash prize of five million dirhams, a coronation that reflects the value of the program and its prestige, and reaffirms its ongoing support for Nabati poetry and the discovery of new creative voices.
