Despite Its Distance from Jordan Low Pressure System on Friday

Khaberni -   The results of computer simulations at Arab Weather indicate that the Kingdom will be affected on Friday, 13-2-2026, by an extension of a distant low pressure system that will later be centered to the south of Turkish territory. This depression will lead to major fluctuations in weather conditions in the Kingdom despite the distance from its center, as it pushes ahead of it much warmer air currents than normal on Friday noon, loaded with quantities of dust, followed by a significant drop in temperatures on Friday/Saturday night, accompanied by rainfall showers, especially in the northern regions, God Willing.

In more detail, during the day on Friday, it is expected that temperatures will continue to rise to be around 7-9 degrees Celsius higher than they are supposed to be, with the weather remaining stable in the morning along with the appearance of high clouds, and gradually the southwesterly winds intensify and are loaded with quantities of dust, resulting in dusty conditions across all areas, increasing in intensity over time.

According to the outputs of computer technology in Arab Weather, a moderate to heavy dust wave is expected to form in the afternoon and evening hours in the Sinai Peninsula within Egyptian territory, and it is being monitored to approach and affect the Kingdom with varying intensity toward the late afternoon and evening hours. As a result, the weather is expected to gradually become dusty, with no exclusion that the dust may sometimes be dense, especially in southern regions, which may lead to reduced and possibly completely obscured horizontal visibility, particularly during the evening hours on Friday.

During the late hours of Friday night, it is expected, by God's will, that the direction of the winds will shift to become northwesterly, leading to a rapid and noticeable drop in temperatures compared with daytime hours, making the weather noticeably cold, while generally remaining dusty.

Throughout the night there will be scattered rain showers at intervals, concentrated in the far north of the Kingdom and possibly extending to some central areas. These showers are characterized by their muddy nature due to the heavy amounts of dust in the air.

The weather will be relatively cold and partly cloudy, with chances of scattered rains still likely in some northern and central regions, and there may be light rain showers in the early hours in the city of Aqaba.

The winds will be southwesterly and moderate in speed, but they will intensify during the noon and afternoon hours and will be accompanied by occasional strong gusts, stirring up dust in the south and east of the Kingdom and the eastern plains.

Recommendations:

Be cautious of reduced and possibly absent horizontal visibility on outer roads, especially in the south of the Kingdom due to dense dust.
Exercise caution while driving on the evening of Friday.
Drive carefully on roads that experience the start of rainfall and avoid speeding.
It is advised for respiratory patients to avoid direct exposure to dusty conditions as much as possible.
