Khaberni - A parliamentary source said that Hamzeh Al-Toubaasi, the candidate for the vacant youth seat from the Workers' Party, will take the constitutional oath in the House of Representatives next Monday.
The source added on Wednesday, to "The Kingdom" channel, that Al-Toubaasi follows Mohammad Al-Jarrah from the same party list, who was expelled from the party today after the Supreme Administrative Court supported the Administrative Court's decision.
The source mentioned that the Independent Election Commission sent the name to the House of Representatives to carry out the necessary constitutional procedures.
According to Article (58/4) of the House of Representatives Election Law No. (4) for the year 2022, it stated, "If a deputy who won from the party list resigns from the party he belongs to or is expelled by a decision that has gained finality, his seat should be filled by the candidate who follows him on the same list he won from, and if this is not possible, the seat should be filled from the next list directly, within the arrangements stipulated in this law."
Regarding the existence of an appeal submitted by the candidate who will succeed Al-Jarrah regarding his previous expulsion decision from the party among a group of members, the Commission clarified that the appeal is still under consideration by the judiciary, and that the candidate is legally considered a member of the party until a final decision is issued, as was the case with Al-Jarrah before the final judgment was issued against him.
