Khaberni - The spokesperson for the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Mohanned Al-Khatib, said on Wednesday that determining the nature of the students' schedule at Jordanian universities during the holy month of Ramadan is under the jurisdiction of university presidents and within their legal and administrative powers.
Al-Khatib clarified that university presidents and their councils have the authority to make the appropriate decision regarding the scheduling mechanism, according to the specific circumstances of each university and in alignment with the students' interests and the smooth operation of the educational process.
He emphasized that the ministry respects the autonomy of universities in managing their academic and organizational affairs, noting that the ministry's role is to outline the general policies of higher education, while university administrations handle the operational aspects related to organizing schedules and academic programs.
He added that any decisions related to the nature of the schedule are announced through the university administrations and their official channels.
