Khaberni - The media spokesperson for the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Mohanned Al-Khatib, said on Wednesday that determining the nature of student attendance in Jordanian universities during the holy month of Ramadan is within the purview of university presidents and under their legal and administrative powers.
Al-Khatib explained that university presidents and their councils have the authority to make appropriate decisions regarding the working mechanism, based on the specific conditions of each university and in alignment with the best interests of the students and the smooth operation of the educational process.
He affirmed that the ministry respects the autonomy of universities in managing their academic and organizational affairs, pointing out that the role of the ministry is to outline the general policies for higher education, while the university administrations handle the operational aspects related to scheduling and academic programs.
He added that any decisions related to the nature of the attendance will be announced through university administrations and their official channels.
