Khaberni - The University of Petra football team has qualified to the semifinal round of the "Leader" Championship for Jordanian universities, held in Aqaba, after beating Yarmouk University's team with a score of four goals to two, following an extension into extra time.
Tomorrow, Thursday, in the semifinals, the team will face the Hashemite University team, aiming to clinch a spot in the final match and compete for the title.
Led by national coach Captain Hatem Aql and coach Ibrahim Abu Naab, the University of Petra team is striving to win the title this year, armed with the experience of reaching podiums, having secured second place in the previous edition of the same tournament.
It is noteworthy that the team topped its group in the first round, after defeating the University of Islamic Sciences and drawing with the Jordanian University, continuing its journey in the championship organized by the Sports Federation of Jordanian Universities.
