Khaberni - General Ashraf Salem Zahir took the constitutional oath before Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi, after his appointment as Minister of Defense and Military Production, within the new government formation, succeeding General Abdel Majeed Saqr.
General Ashraf Salem held the position of director of the Military Academy, and director of the Coordination Office for Admission to the Academy and Military Colleges, established according to Law No. 146 of 2022, and was at the time in the rank of Major General, until Al-Sisi issued a decision promoting him to the rank of Lieutenant General in 2024.
General Ashraf Salem Zahir was also responsible for preparing and qualifying new military personnel, according to the highest scientific and technical standards, and contributed to the development of training programs for military personnel.
The Egyptian Military Academy plays a pivotal role in preparing military cadres, focusing on graduating officers who are scientifically and practically qualified, according to the latest military training systems.
