60 Additional Days Complicate Hamza Abdel Karims Situation with Barcelona

Khaberni -  Spanish media confirmed that player Hamza Abdel Karim excelled in his first days with Barcelona Atlètic, where he displayed great physical readiness for participating in matches, however, his official participation might be delayed for up to 60 days.

Journalist Mahmoud Shawky quoted the Spanish newspaper Sport stating that the news suggests that the player will not be available for the team in the upcoming period, as the bureaucratic procedures to obtain the necessary permits are expected to last between a month and a half to two months.

The newspaper pointed out that this delay is due to Hamza Abdel Karim’s status as a player from outside the European Union, as Egypt is not a party to the Cotonou Agreement which governs the relations between the European Union and the countries of Africa, the Caribbean, and the Pacific, which slows down the completion of official procedures for fully joining the team.

It explained: "While Barcelona Atlètic's management awaits the completion of these steps, alternative solutions are being considered to involve the player, one of which includes his temporary joining to the under-19 youth team, where the procedures are significantly easier compared to the first team or Atlètic, thus providing him an opportunity to maintain his technical and physical readiness and complete the adaptation process with the Spanish club's style."
