Khaberni - On Wednesday, the submission of electronic applications will begin for the official university colleges for the Intermediate Diploma stage, for those who succeed in the supplementary examination results of the general secondary school certificate, and it will continue for four days.
The advisor to the Minister of Higher Education, director of the Unified Admission Coordination Unit, Mohannad Al-Khatib, said that the Higher Education Council decided to accept 3664 students in the Intermediate Diploma stage.
He pointed out that the submission of applications for the Intermediate Diploma stage will be "electronically" through the website of the Unified Admission Coordination Unit, and that the fee for the application is to be paid through the electronic payment service "E-Fawateerkom".
The website allows submitting applications for joining the intermediate university colleges affiliated with Al-Balqa Applied University, Al-Tafilah Technical Intermediate College affiliated to Tafilah Technical University, Intermediate Diploma majors at the World Islamic Sciences University, the Royal Jordanian Geographic Center College for Geospatial and Surveying Sciences, and Prince Hussein bin Abdullah II Academy for Civil Protection/ Al-Moqar.
Al-Khatib clarified that there are specialties not offered in the unified admission program, including "Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacy and there are other specialties due to the full capacity" as attributed by the Accreditation Commission to the Higher Education Council, pointing out that there are 368 specialties offered for the bachelor's degree in the official universities, and 95 specialties offered at the Intermediate Diploma stage.
Al-Khatib affirmed that the Higher Education Council urged universities to focus on specialties that have a future in technology, explaining that the council is keen on not having these specialties duplicated and created excessively so as not to become stagnant and saturated quickly.
