Before Ramadan How to Prepare Your Body for Fasting in Easy Steps

Khaberni - As the month of fasting approaches, many begin to think about how to prepare their bodies to handle long hours of abstaining from food and drink while maintaining their body energy and activity.

Nutrition experts confirm that early preparation of the body reduces fatigue and sustains daily activity.

Adjust sleeping schedules
Fasting affects the body's daily rhythm, so it is important to adjust sleep schedules before the fasting begins. Try to sleep early and wake up gradually before the pre-dawn meal to avoid feeling exhausted during the day.

Hydrate the body
It is advised to drink a sufficient amount of water, avoiding excessive carbonated drinks and coffee as they are diuretics and increase fluid loss.

Eat balanced meals
Start focusing on meals containing protein, fiber, and healthy fats. Vegetables, fruits, whole grains, and legumes help maintain a feeling of fullness for longer and preserve energy levels during the fasting hours.

Moderate physical exercises
It is not advisable to engage in strenuous exercises right before fasting. Light exercises such as walking or stretching can be done, or schedule sports activities after enough time post-breaking the fast to maintain physical activity without straining the body.

Gradually reduce caffeine
If you are accustomed to drinking lots of coffee or tea, try to gradually reduce the amount before fasting to avoid headaches or fatigue from sudden caffeine withdrawal.

Psychological preparation
The psychological aspect is as important as the physical one. Having a clear plan for meals, sleep, and physical activities helps the body to adapt to fasting and reduces stress and psychological pressure.

The International Astronomy Center announced that seeing the crescent of Ramadan on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, will be impossible from all regions of the Islamic world, whether with the naked eye, telescope, or even with the latest astronomical imaging technologies.

Based on this, Wednesday the 18th of February is expected to be the completion of the month of Shaban in countries that observe the crescent on Tuesday, while Thursday, February 19, will be the first day of Ramadan in the majority of the Islamic countries.
