Khaberni - Journalistic reports have revealed the first steps taken by Rami Abbas, the agent of the Egyptian star Mohamed Salah, Liverpool's winger, to work on his transfer to one of the "Roshan" Saudi League teams for the upcoming season.
The "Roshan" Football League for Professionals has been monitoring Mohamed Salah's situation for several seasons. Although the Egyptian winger, who was an indispensable element in Liverpool's lineup until last season, preferred to continue his career in England and extended his contract with the "Reds" after the exceptional 2024-2025 season.
However, the situation changed after the disappointing season for Liverpool, and the decline in Salah's individual performance, which led to clear tension last December when Salah publicly criticized his coach for keeping him on the bench. Since that moment, the option of leaving was put on the table, before the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations provided a temporary relief for everyone and after his return, Salah regained his place in the starting lineup under the leadership of Dutch coach Arne Slot, but he has yet to regain his sharp scoring instinct.
According to a report by "Foot Mercato" on Tuesday, Mohamed Salah's agent is holding talks with Al-Ittihad Saudi Club.
The report added: "Unlike last year, Salah seems more open this time to the idea of moving to the Roshan League, which would satisfy all parties, as Liverpool will receive a financial compensation from the sale, while the decision to leave will stem from the player's own desire."
It's worth noting that Al-Ittihad club, during the winter transfer market, lost its two French stars Karim Benzema, who moved to Al Hilal, and N'Golo Kanté, who joined the ranks of Fenerbahçe in Turkey, while Fabinho is nearing the end of his contract in June, and Moussa Diaby's name has been circulating among the interests of Inter Milan.
Given these circumstances, there is an urgent need for Al-Ittihad Jeddah to strengthen its squad to continue competing for advanced positions in the future, and the Saudi team is seeking to make a long-awaited major deal by signing Mohamed Salah.
