Khaberni - Dr. Khaled Al-Nimer, a consultant and professor of heart diseases and artery catheterization, warns the youth against using "Swieka", indicating that it is considered a scientifically proven cause of heart attacks, and is more dangerous than traditional cigarettes by far.
Dr. Al-Nimer explained that "Swieka" is made up of ground tobacco mixed with baking soda and ash, placed in the mouth, pointing out that its danger lies in the fact that nicotine absorption from it is higher and lasts longer compared to regular smoking.
He disclosed a shocking number of users of this substance, noting that a single can of mouth tobacco may contain an amount of nicotine equivalent to about 60 cigarettes, which amounts to approximately 140-150 mg of nicotine.
Dr. Al-Nimer reviewed five serious and direct effects of "Swieka" on the heart muscle, including:
High blood pressure.
Accelerated heartbeats.
Increased blood viscosity and occurrence of clotting.
Narrowing of the arteries.
Increased likelihood of angina and heart attacks.
