Khaberni - A number of players from the Pyramids club's youth team, born in 2007, suffered an elevator accident at the club's headquarters, on Sunday, after the end of a technical lecture for the team.
Reports indicated that the players boarded the elevator to descend from the fourth floor, when it suddenly fell, causing panic and shock among them and the technical staff.
The incident resulted in injuries of varying severity including fractures in the legs, tendon cuts, wounds, bruises in various parts of the body, in addition to severe fainting cases among some players due to psychological and physical shock.
The injured were immediately transferred to the hospital to receive first aid and necessary medical examinations.
Sources within the club confirmed that the condition of the players is currently stable, with no life-threatening injuries, and continuous precise medical monitoring continues.
Ihab El Masry, the coach of the youth sector at Pyramids Club, revealed details of the incident on his official Facebook account, saying: "God decreed and what He willed happened, praise be to God for the survival of the 2007 team players at Pyramids, after the end of the lecture and while they were descending in the elevator, it fell with them from the fourth floor".
He added: "The accident resulted in various injuries among the players, including fractures and cuts in the leg, along with wounds and bruises, and severe fainting cases. The players are still receiving necessary medical care in the hospital", indicating that the situation was extremely difficult.
Meanwhile, the club management and technical staff have shown full support for the players and their families, ensuring continuous monitoring of their conditions until full recovery. Final medical reports are soon expected to determine their return date to training.
