Results from a study by scientists from several American scientific institutions involving 131,821 participants from major studies lasting 43 years indicate that moderate consumption of caffeinated coffee (2-3 cups daily) or tea (1-2 cups daily) reduces the risk of dementia and slows cognitive decline, while maintaining cognitive functions. According to the scientists, a report published in the Journal of the American Medical Association states that among the participants, 11,033 were diagnosed with dementia, and those who consumed the highest amount of coffee had an 18% lower risk of dementia compared to those who consumed little or no coffee.
