Turkish Foreign Minister No Indications of a USIranian War

Khaberni - Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan confirmed that the region currently shows no signs indicating the potential outbreak of a war between the United States and Iran, pointing to both parties' readiness for dialogue and continued negotiations.

Fidan said in an interview with "CNN Turk": "The Iranian file occupies a significant place in our diplomatic agenda, as the region is exhausted and cannot bear another conflict. Therefore, we are using all available means to prevent any military escalation."

The Turkish minister pointed out that Ankara closely follows the diplomatic developments between Washington and Tehran, noting that a meeting was held in Sultanate of Oman which included representatives from both sides, followed by Turkish officials being briefed on the details of the talks by the foreign ministers of the two countries.

Fidan emphasized that "the core message is the clear expression from both sides of their desire to continue the dialogue," adding: "Despite the need for a more flexible and creative approach in the negotiation process, we do not see, at this stage, any indications of readiness for a military option."

This statement comes amidst rapid developments on the US-Iranian arena, where President Donald Trump announced on January 28 the deployment of an "armada" of warships towards Iran, expressing his hope for Tehran to return to the negotiation table to reach an agreement that would result in them abandoning the nuclear program.

A round of negotiations was also held last Friday in the Omani capital Muscat, which Trump described as positive and that will continue during the current week. Conversely, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi confirmed that Tehran insists on its right to enrich uranium, even if that leads to war.
