Khaberni - Death claimed this Monday morning, Hajj Ahmed Abdul Aziz Al-Bambi, grandfather of the global Egyptian star Mohamed Salah, captain of the national team and Liverpool Football Club, to his mother.
The Egyptian Football Association issued an official statement expressing its deepest condolences and sympathy to its great star, Mohamed Salah, in this dire bereavement.
Hany Abo Rida, the president of the Egyptian Football Association, the board members, the general secretary, the technical staff of the national teams and all the employees extend their deepest condolences and sympathy to the star Mohamed Salah on the death of his grandfather, may Allah forgive him.
Hundreds of residents from Najrij village and several neighboring villages in Basyoun Center, Gharbia Governorate, participated in escorting the body of the late Hajj Ahmed Abdul Aziz Al-Bambi to his final resting place in the family cemetery in the village, after the funeral prayer was performed at Sidy Moussa Mosque.
The funeral was led by Hajj Salah Ghaly, father of the star Mohamed Salah, and his brother Nasser Salah, amid a large attendance of local residents, relatives and mourners who came to offer condolences.
Mohamed Salah is one of the most prominent symbols of Gharbia Governorate and an inspiring figure for the youth in his hometown and its neighboring villages. He enjoys a special status as a role model for thousands of young people who aspire to reach global levels in football, and he is a constant source of pride for the people of the region, which abounds with numerous sporting talents.
