Khaberni - The Commander-in-Chief of the Libyan Armed Forces, Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar, discussed with the head of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya, Hanna Tetteh, the UN roadmap for conducting the presidential and parliamentary elections.
In detail, Russia Today agency mentioned that the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces discussed with the head of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya and her deputy, Stephanie Khoury, the discussions and dialogues conducted by the structured dialogue committees aiming to lay out a roadmap for conducting the presidential and parliamentary elections.
It added that during the meeting at the headquarters of the General Command in Benghazi, the Commander-in-Chief affirmed his full support for the efforts of the UN mission and its endeavors to advance the political process in the country.
In this context, it was reported that Hanna Tetteh reviewed the results of the committees’ work and the next steps toward organizing the electoral process.
The reporter noted that at the end of the meeting, the parties agreed to continue coordination and ongoing consultation to support the steps of the UN mission towards achieving permanent stability in Libya.
