Khaberni - Recently, the download rate of applications that help identify American products in Western markets has increased following recent escalations by the American president Donald Trump in Greenland, according to a report published by the "Associated Press".
The report confirms that one of the most famous of these applications, "Made O'Meter", has witnessed more than 30,000 downloads in the past few days, representing an increase exceeding 30% in its download rate, as it was launched in March.
The application directly relies on artificial intelligence technologies to identify a variety of products, as well as analyze their alternatives, and users can control the mechanism of suggesting alternatives by allowing only European products or removing all products owned by American companies.
The "Made O'Meter" application was developed by Ian Rosenfeldt, 53, who lives in Denmark, and it is not the only Danish application specialized in boycotting American products.
The Danish "NonUSA" application also, developed by Jonas Baiper, 21, and his team, reports that the download rate has increased significantly at the end of January and the beginning of February, with the application witnessing more than 25,000 downloads in a single day.
Baiper explained that using his application removes the burden from the users' shoulders, according to his statement to the "Associated Press", confirming that users feel they have gained a power capable of changing the course of events.
A related report from the American technical site "TechCrunch" confirms that these applications have seen large jumps in the number of users in the past weeks, as the "NonUSA" application became number one in application stores in Denmark a few days after its launch.
This is Not the First Time
This is not the first time that developers have responded to popular demands in organized boycott campaigns, as recent years have witnessed intensive boycott campaigns against American products that support the Israeli occupation forces.
A report published by "Deutsche Welle" indicates that the "nothanks" application was among the solutions that users around the world resorted to discovering products that support the Israeli occupation forces and boycotting them completely.
According to the report, the application's download rate rose to more than 100,000 times during 2023 when it was first launched.
