King sponsors the celebration of the Amman Chamber of Commerce marking over a hundred years since its establishment

Khaberni  - His Majesty King Abdullah II, today, Monday, sponsored the celebration of the Amman Chamber of Commerce on the occasion of more than a hundred years since its founding.

His Majesty followed a presentation on the Chamber's most significant contributions to the national economy since its establishment in 1923, its programs aimed at organizing the business environment and expanding regional and international partnerships, and its plans to build on future opportunities.

The Amman Chamber of Commerce represents about 42,000 commercial, service, and agricultural establishments, providing approximately 567,000 job opportunities for Jordanians, and these establishments had a capital of about 34 billion dinars in 2025.

During the celebration, which was attended by Prime Minister Dr. Jafar Hassan, the President of the Amman Chamber of Commerce, Khalil Al-Haj Tawfiq, spoke about the importance of the partnership between the public and private sectors in improving the business environment and developing legislation, which contributes to strengthening the economy's resilience and its ability to face challenges.

His Majesty toured the chamber's member services center, where His Majesty learned about the center's role in providing services for certificates of origin and membership renewals, which have been developed through automation and digital transformation, contributing to expediting procedures, enhancing performance efficiency, and improving the experience of those dealing with the chamber.

His Majesty also visited an exhibition documenting the chamber's journey and viewed a mural highlighting the role of commercial and service sectors that have been a pillar in enhancing financial and investment stability.

The celebration was attended by the Director of His Majesty's Office, Engineer Alaa Batayneh, and the Minister of Industry, Trade, and Supply, Engineer Yarub Al-Qudah.
