Khaberni - The seventh edition of the Saudi Cup for horse racing launches on Friday and Saturday, February 13 and 14, 2026. The event, under the patronage of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz, is the largest and most expensive in the history of global horse racing. Leading horse owners, trainers, and jockeys from around the world look forward to its highest international monetary prizes.
Prince Bandar bin Khalid bin Faisal, an advisor at the Royal Court and chairman of the Equestrian Authority and the Horse Racing Club, confirmed that the generous sponsorship and continuous follow-up from His Royal Highness the Crown Prince have enhanced the status of "Saudi Cup" as one of the major global milestones for horse racing. The event has become a main attraction for major owners, trainers, and jockeys to participate in the qualifying stages leading to the grand evening, which attracts the elite champion horses from various countries around the world.
Prince Bandar said: "The Saudi Cup has become a national and global icon of success, and we are proud of the development and upgrade of several accompanying races this year, and raising their international classification within the top three categories, reflecting the fruits of unlimited support from the leadership, and affirming the success of our strategic plans towards an impactful Saudi presence on the global stage."
He pointed out that the role of "Saudi Cup" extends beyond races, to become a cultural and commercial platform reflecting the identity of the Kingdom, blending fashion, folk arts, and handicrafts in a framework that enhances civilizational interaction and highlights the cultural richness and diversity of Saudi regions.
The chairman of the Equestrian Authority emphasized that this sponsorship represents a source of pride and inspiration for everyone, embodying the leadership's interest in showcasing Saudi culture domestically and internationally, stressing that the world's trust in the Kingdom's ability to organize major events has become well-established, and the events organized by the Kingdom reflect distinction and leadership, proudly narrated on regional and international levels, in line with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030.
