Khaberni - The president of Petra University, Professor Dr. Rami Abdel Rahim, participated in a dialogue session within the Fifth Educational Forum, which was inaugurated by the former Prime Minister, Professor Dr. Adnan Badran.
Abdel Rahim emphasized the importance of developing flexible and multi-path university educational programs that respond to rapid technological transformations, pointing out that improving the integration of education begins with identifying children's inclinations at an early age, citing the Japanese experience in directing students toward academic and professional paths that match their abilities.
He explained that schools play a pivotal role in this area through the formation of specialized committees to identify student inclinations, and to acquaint them with the positives and challenges of various specialties. He also noted the Ministry of Education's updates to educational pathways, especially in the tenth grade and the first secondary year, aimed at alleviating pressure on students and directing them towards future educational paths.
The Jasmine Foundation organized the forum under the title: “Integration of Academic, Vocational, and Technical Education in Jordan.” The CEO of the foundation, Dr. Omar Al-Ziyoud, stated that the forum constitutes a national dialogue platform to bridge the gap between academic and vocational education, enhance employment opportunities, and empower youth.
The forum witnessed the participation of former ministers, university presidents, and experts in accreditation and quality assurance, alongside representatives from vocational training institutions, and funding and development funds.
